About Me

I graduated from Western Illinois University with a bachelors degree in elementary education and endorsements to teach junior high language arts or social studies. After student teaching in a PBL fourth grade classroom, I knew this is where I was meant to be. The language arts position became available, I went for it, and have been here ever since! I love teaching at PBL! I added a masters degree from Olivet Nazarene University to my educational background a few years ago and my future involves more education (I'm sure) as I believe we are never too old to learn; plus it helps me keep focus on the perspective of my students.

My husband and I currently live in Loda with our dog, Oreo and cat,  Gucci. Rick, my husband is a supervisor of shipping and logistics at Incobrasa Industries in Gilman. We have an older son that lives in Dallas, Texas and works for State Farm. Our daughter blessed us with our first granddaughter keeping us very busy in the area of spoiling, and our youngest son is going into his 3rd year of college at SIU in Carbondale. As you can imagine, our household is just buzzing with the excitement! There is no doubt that we will have a busy year, but you will still be able to find us out and about in the community, especially at school events.
